It is reported in Acts Chapter 2 that the early church met in large group settings (in the temple), and in small group settings (in their homes). Fellowship, eating together, worship, study, prayer, outreach, and joyful sharing were important components of their life together as a community of faith. This is also true at Church of the Apostles.

Small Groups Mission Statement

The mission of the Small Groups Ministry is to connect people to Christian fellowship, where caring relationships are built, life change occurs, and faith and discipleship in Jesus Christ flourishes.

What Are Small Groups?

A small group is a group of individuals that meet together outside of the scheduled worship service to further the work of the church and make disciples. This is accomplished by:

Nurturing group members in Christian fellowship

Developing an understanding of Jesus Christ and the Word through study

Performing outreach to invite others into fellowship

Serving the community through mission work as an extension of the church

We have opportunities to serve or assist in the following ministries:

Altar Guild: the Altar Guild is responsible for preparing and ensuring that all linens, supplies and vestments are clean and ready for our services.

Prayer Circle: Our team prays for those who need it the most, Prayer requests can be made at any time by calling the church or leaving a message on the church phone. Similarly prayer requests may be handed in on Sundays prior to the Holy Eucharist.

Seniors Visitation Program: Fr. Paul regularly visits local convalescent homes and hospitals in the San Fernando Valley. Assistance is always welcome to visit those who have no regular family visits.
